"The National Latin Exam (NLE) is a test given annually to Latin students across the United States and around the world. The NLE is not meant to be a competition but rather an opportunity for students to receive reinforcement and recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom. Depending upon their score, students may earn certificates, medals, and may even qualify for scholarships." - NLE website
Students in the Kell Latin program have the opportunity to take the National Latin Exam each year and may earn awards and recognition. Administration of the exam generally occurs in mid-March, and scores are reported a few weeks after. The exam is optional, as there is a small fee (currently $6) to take it. There are different exams available depending on how many years of Latin the student has taken. It would be administered in class.
